Day Job Killer

Day Job Killer is the new internet marketing eBook by the author of Affiliate Project X. Fundamentally, Day Job Killer is a sort of Part 2 of Chris’ previous eBook - which is great news, because Affiliate Project X was full of brilliant and easily usable ideas to start making money quickly on the internet.

I made it clear in my review of Affiliate Project X that I really liked the information, and was making money virtually off the bat when I had read it and implemented some to the tactics.

Therefore, I quickly bought Day Job Killer as soon as it is was released and here is a review of it.

Chris delivers 6 more internet marketing techniques that you can start implementing now. They are:

Direct Linking X

Here are 4 simple ways to make the Google Cash method work for you again. If you are unfamiliar with Google Cash, it was a method of using Google Adwords with Affiliate Programs. Basically, you linked straight to the Affiliate page from your Ad. This became unprofitable when Google jigged their pricing algorithms and many people were forced out to the market.

However, it is back with this simple technique, and if you already have an adwords account, you could be using it in minutes. I did it in about 10 minutes of reading this with an affiliate program that I know converts. I’ve calculated that I can break even with only one sale and over 500 clicks!

The Leveller : How To Rob A Guru

This method is an extension of The Leech Method that was popularized in Affiliate Project X. And it is popular - once you read Affiliate Project X, you will start to see people using this method everywhere.

The Leveller is a fairly brutal technique that involves easily building a very targeted email list and promoting to it. Because it is very targeted, conversion rates will be high.

Campaign Nuking And Other Advanced Adwords Tricks

Basically … How to find other peoples profitable campaigns. Kick them out of the marketplace. Earn their money for yourself.

Sounds brutal? Probably because it is!

Campaign Nuking takes advantage of a loophole in the Adwords system that lets you easily find out how to outbid your competitor. Sounds complicated? Don’t worry, there is a step by step instruction that follows an actual campaign that Chris has profited from.

The Undercutter

This cunning method involves finding the perennially popular products and then beating them at their own game. This method involves a bit more work, but is very simple and looks like it would make you money on autopilot for months to come.

Media Manslaughter

Chris goes offline here and provides a blueprint of how to profit from advertising in the mainstream media. Bit of a new one for me and I will want to make sure I read this part several times before jumping into it.

Thankfully, this chapter is packed with detailed information. I used to work in magazine publishing alongside the advertising sales team and can vouch for all the techniques that Chris explains to get cheaper ads in a print publication really work.

Copy The Best : Offline

This section is aimed at people who would be unsure about the capital outlay that you would need to advertise in print media. Here, Chris explains a way to get your ‘ads’ into the publication without having to pay. Pretty cunning, but again, from my experience in print media, I can see that this would work. It’s a pretty short chapter that covers a simple method.

One thing you will notice when you read Day Job Killer is that Chris really does not pull any punches. His writing style is straight to the point - which I like. The chapters are short, concise and packed with usable information.

Each of the above methods really takes you by the hand and walks you through exactly what you have to do - Finding a product, setting up a squeeze page, writing an ad, setting up an autoresponder campaign, what free tools to use, etc…

Sometimes, when I read other peoples eBooks (and I read quite a lot of them), I feel a bit overwhelmed and find it hard to settle down and implement the ideas. This is not a feeling I get when I read Day Job Killer (or Affiliate Project X). You are just left with simple ideas that you can start using immediately.

Like I said, I started making money immediately with Affiliate Project X and expect to do the same with Day Job Killer.

3 Easy Steps To PPC Affiliate Marketing Success

There are a number of ways to make money on the internet. One way to do this is by having a go at PPC Affiliate Marketing.

What Is PPC Affiliate Marketing?

PPC Affiliate Marketing is basically a mixture of Affiliate Marketing and PPC. And this is how it works:

  1. Find a product that you can earn a commission from promoting via your website.
  2. Buy some PPC traffic and direct it to your website page with the link to the product you are promoting.
  3. Bank the cheques.

Now that looks pretty simple and the truth is that it is pretty simple. However, there are a number of things that you have to do a bit of work on to get a successful system going. Some of these things are:

  • Get good at Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing (free $25 voucher). You could start by doing the online training at the Adwords Learning Center.
  • Find some good affiliate programs to promote. Not all are created equal. Also, you want to promote something that sells itself easily.
  • Learn how to create suitable landing pages to entice the prospect into buying.
  • Create effective advertising copy to fill your landing page with trustworthy words.
  • You really need to learn how to not blow your PPC budget too!

Getting good at PPC Affiliate marketing is a very lucrative skill to learn that will provide you with another income stream to live comfortably off.

Good luck :)

Affiliate Project X

I bought the Affiliate Project X eBook a couple of months ago and decided to report back with my thoughts on it.

Affiliate Project X is the work of a guy called Chris who lives in the UK, and was launched sometime towards the end of last year.

The book itself is not too long (weighing in at just 50 pages) but is packed with no BS methods of making money with internet marketing as quickly as possible.

It begins with a chapter that explains all the resources that he uses in the book. e.g. Affiliate programs, Google Adwords, email marketing, Autoresponders, etc. And also gives some good advice on building up you portfolio of affiliate marketing products.

In a nutshell, Chris guides you through 6 distinct and laser targeted methods of generating an online income. He calls these methods:

  1. The Leech - The Art Of The Pre-sell
  2. The Affiliate Diary
  3. The Workhorse Method
  4. Thief In The Night
  5. Copy The Best
  6. The Opportunist

In spite of the “Code Names” he has given to each of his 6 methods, I was reasonably familiar with the fundamentals of each of them. However, the value of Affiliate Project X lies in the twist and lateral thinking that Chris has applied to each of these techniques and shares with us in the book.

In the final chapter, Chris gives away some great tips on using some advanced tricks to help you make more money.

Another thing that I has impressed me with Affiliate Project X is that I have received updates and an extra chapter since buying the book. It appears that Chris updates it periodically and notifies you of updates and extra bits and pieces.

I have to honestly say that Affiliate Project X is one of the best internet marketing eBooks that I have read. And I truly believe that Affiliate Project X is worth more than it’s price … and I have paid more for less useful information.

A really cool thing that I have benefited from Affiliate Project X is taking one of the methods and adding my own twist that has seen my revenues jump significantly.

How To Change The Wordpress Default Category

I get a fair amount of traffic here from people who are searching How To Change The Wordpress Default Category.

They get directed to my How I Set Up Wordpress post which does not explain how to change the default category … instead it is referring to the fact that I rename the default category at the start of setting up Wordpress before adding any content.

If you want to know how to change the Wordpress default category then you need to:

  1. Select Options from the main menu.
  2. Select Writing from the sub menu.
  3. Change the value in the Default post category drop down list.
  4. Click the Update Options button at the bottom of the page.
  5. Done.

I can sympathize with all the people who want to change the Wordpress default category. Allthough it sounds like it should be a simple task, I spend a good 15 minutes hunting around the admin panel trying to find out where I could make this change.

I guessed that it should be in the Mangage > Categories section of the Admin panel. But it’s not there.

I would recommend that you do not rename the default category once you have started adding content to your blog because it has the potential to change your permalink URL’s which is not a great idea.

Site Page Tracker

Site Page Tracker is a neat little piece of software that is pretty useful for finding out how you websites are doing in the search engines.

There is nothing flash about Site Page Tracker, but it is incredibly useful in giving you ‘at-a-glance’ knowledge of how all of your websites are doing in the search engines by immediately showing you how many pages you have indexed and how many backlinks you have in the 3 major search engines - Google, Yahoo & MSN.

You can then simply click on the table of results to go to the live data at the search engines.

Site Page Tracker can also provide data on how many of your articles have been published around the internet - although I have not used this feature yet, but can see that it would be pretty useful.

For me, the beauty of using Site Page Tracker is that I can immediately see which of my websites need a bit of work on getting indexed. This is a really useful aspect for people who have more than a few websites.

It works by uploading a few php scripts to your web server. Once this is done, there are a few simple settings to complete to get Site Page Tracker working and then you can see all your websites indexed pages and back links.

One of the scripts needs to be run each time you add a new website so that it can update the stats.

You can also set up a cron job to do this automatically each day. By doing this you then get a daily historical view of how you websites are falling in and out of the search engines.

Site Page Tracker is especially easy to install since it does not require MySQL (or any other database) which means less configuration hassles for the user.

I don’t know that there is a limit to how many websites you can track with Site Page Tracker. I’ve been adding heaps without any problems … It’s pretty cool to see how your competition is doing too ;)

It’s also pretty cool not having to check each site individually to see how it is doing in the search engines.

Wordpress SEO Template/Theme

I’m going to develop a Wordpress Theme that is tooled up for SEO!

One of my goals for last year was to develop a Wordpress theme from scratch. All of the Wordpress themes that I use are usually hacked to the way that I like them, or used straight out of the box - like the one I use here - Andreas 08 3 columns ver 1.

So I failed to do it last year. Probably because it wasn’t such an important thing to get done.

However, after being inspired by DaveN’s post about using CSS, I’ve decided that I’m going to develop a Wordpress SEO template/theme.

The idea is that I want to use CSS to jig the content so that the article text is read first by the search engines. This will mean that any navigation and sidebar text comes after the article text and will not interfere with SERP results or text in the listings. Sometimes my listings, especially Yahoo! seem to have navigation text in the page description.

Anyway, it’s the 8th of January 2007, so let’s see how long it takes.

UPDATE: This is done. The theme is called SEO Simple. You can see it here.

Beating Adwords 4.0

This is a little late, but I have just got back from the Christmas holiday and have been going through the backlog of emails. I don’t know how I missed it, but Beating Adwords has been updated - at the end of last year.

Incase you are new to Beating Adwords, you can read my Beating Adwords Review here.

The great thing about buying one of the best resources I have read on Google Adwords (i.e. Beating Adwords) is that the guys who wrote it are updating it frequently to keep up with the changes that Google makes to its Adwords system. If you own a copy of Beating Adwords, then you are on their mailing list that entitles you to download the most recent update.

Make no mistake, Google have changed and will continue to change the way their Adwords product works. They have to - They own the internets most profitable advertising system and will not want to lose that status any time soon.

If you want to keep on top of your Pay Per Click game then you need to adapt to these changes.

The latest Beating Adwords update includes a section on how to effectively overcome what has become known as the Google Slap, and get the low cost clicks you were getting before this happened.

There are also 2 completely new sections on:

  1. Testing and Analyzing Campaigns
  2. Analyzing Your Competition

So if you have not already downloaded the most recent Beating Adwords update, then do it ASAP!
