The first thing that we need to do is select a product to advertise for our PPC Campaign. Since this is about PPC, I’ll use Keyword Elite as the product.

1. Find out the variables for the product. We need to get the amount we will earn per sale and the conversion rate. In the case of Keyword Elite, we will be earning $97 per sale. But we don’t have access to the conversion rate, so let’s err on the side of caution and say that it is 1%. This means that for every 100 visitors to the sales page, we will sell 1 copy of Keyword Elite. We can now enter 97.00 into the Amount Earned per Conversion field and 1 into the Conversion Rate field of the calculator.
2. Next complete the Number of Clicks and CPC (Cost per Click). Let’s say that we are going to test that 1% conversion rate by buying 100 clicks at $0.50 per click. Now push the Calculate PPC ROI button to get the results. For data we have entered we get a ROI of 86%. This means that for every dollar that we put into our PPC campaign, we get $1.86 back. Which is not too bad really.
3. Now lets find what the break even investment amount is. To do this you need to tweak the CPC (Cost per Click) field until you get a ROI of 0%. To save you time, I will tell you know that the break even CPC for this case is $0.93. So that means that you can safely bid up to 93c and in theory you will not lose any money.
4. You can now start getting creative with your numbers. If you can increase the conversion rate by 1% by improving your ad copy, you will see that for CPC of $0.50 your ROI is going to increase to 272% – i.e. for every dollar you spend on advertising, you will get back $2.72 or an net profit of $136.00 on a spend of just $50.00. So that shows us that we should definitely be working on our ad copy!
5. The next step is to test, test, test with different configurations of variables. Use the calculator to help you construct your ad campaigns, find products that are worth promoting and avoid products that are going to send you bankrupt.

What Is PPC Affiliate Marketing?

PPC Affiliate Marketing is basically a mixture of Affiliate Marketing and PPC. And this is how it works:

1. Find a product that you can earn a commission from promoting via your website.
2. Buy some PPC traffic and direct it to your website page with the link to the product you are promoting.
3. Bank the cheques.

Now that looks pretty simple and the truth is that it is pretty simple. However, there are a number of things that you have to do a bit of work on to get a successful system going. Some of these things are:

• Get good at Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing (free $25 voucher). You could start by doing the online training at the Adwords Learning Center.
• Find some good affiliate programs to promote. Not all are created equal. Also, you want to promote something that sells itself easily.
• Learn how to create suitable landing pages to entice the prospect into buying.
• Create effective advertising copy to fill your landing page with trustworthy words.
• You really need to learn how to not blow your PPC budget too!

Getting good at PPC Affiliate marketing is a very lucrative skill to learn that will provide you with another income stream to live comfortably off.

Affiliate Project X is the work of a guy called Chris who lives in the UK, and was launched sometime towards the end of last year.

The book itself is not too long (weighing in at just 50 pages) but is packed with no BS methods of making money with internet marketing as quickly as possible.

In spite of the “Code Names” he has given to each of his 6 methods, I was reasonably familiar with the fundamentals of each of them. However, the value of Affiliate Project X lies in the twist and lateral thinking that Chris has applied to each of these techniques and shares with us in the book.

In the final chapter, Chris gives away some great tips on using some advanced tricks to help you make more money.

Another thing that I has impressed me with Affiliate Project X is that I have received updates and an extra chapter since buying the book. It appears that Chris updates it periodically and notifies you of updates and extra bits and pieces.

I have to honestly say that Affiliate Project X is one of the best internet marketing eBooks that I have read. And I truly believe that Affiliate Project X is worth more than it’s price … and I have paid more for less useful information.

A really cool thing that I have benefited from Affiliate Project X is taking one of the methods and adding my own twist that has seen my revenues jump significantly.

The contents of the Wealthy Affiliate website consists of:

• Affiliate Marketing & Advertising Tutorials – Enough material is provided here to provide a novice with the essential knowledge of this subject. Fresh ideas are also provided for people who are already experienced.
• Video Tutorials – These show you around Google Adwords and explain how to set up an account and campaign. These would be really useful to a Google Adwords beginner.
• Keyword Lists – There are several keyword lists that contain many keywords each. Each of these lists is provided with relevant affiliate products. You could easily set up some campaigns with these immediately.
• Private Forums – Newbies and successful marketers gather at the forums to seek and provide advice.

The primary method taught by Wealthy Affiliate is the PPC – Affiliate Marketing technique, whereby you promote affiliate products through Pay Per Click programs with the desired outcome of spending less on advertising than you make in commissions.

If you are a seasoned pro at Google Adwords, then you would probably not learn much that is new to you (allthough it might be worth just joining for a month to have a poke around).

I have been a member for a few months now and have no reason to cancel in the near future. I make more money from the ideas I get and utilize than the $29 a month that I am paying.

Beating Adwords is an Ebook that you can download immediately (after paying for it!). It is very easy to read and will dramatically increase your chances of making an income using Google Adwords to promote Affiliate Products.

It is written by two experienced and successful internet marketers Kyle and Carson who also run a website called Wealthy Affiliate that serves as a coaching forum for the information in Beating Adwords.

However, membership to Wealthy Affiliate is not necessary for what you learn from Beating Adwords (but is an extra benefit).

Of course, you could use the information in Beating Adwords to promote your own products too.

The bottom line is that as long as you take action on what it teaches you, then you will recover the cost of Beating Adwords quickly, even if it is saving money you would have wasted on in-effective advertising.

Also remember that most people lose money with Google Adwords simply because they are not aware of a few simple techniques that can seperate you from your competitors and convince your prospects to buy your products.

This is the practice of promoting an affiliate program using Google Adwords. Basically, you buy traffic to the affiliate site and if you have done your research, you make more money from the affiliate program than you spend on advertising it.

The one hurdle that I had to overcome with this is that I didn’t want to lose my initial start up capital for the project. I knew that if I did, that it would not really matter as it would be money spent on learning. However, It was proving to be a really psychological barrier for me.

Yesterday, I read that Brandon Hopkins of Pay Per Click IQ wanted people to ask him questions about PPC, so I emailed him to ask him – What Are The Top 10 Ways to Lose Money With PPC? – And you can check his answers at this link.

So now I will give a quick run down of his tips, but I’ll turn them around into what you should do so as not to blow your budget.

1. Do pick your affiliate program carefully. If you already run affiliate programs on your content sites, then maybe choose one that is converting well.
2. Do use appropriate tools to choose your keywords. Try this tool for free or Wordtracker if you don’t mind paying. Also, give Good Keywords a try for managing your keywords.
3. Do start with a low Cost Per Click (CPC). Increase it as you need to depending on your Click Through Rate (CTR) and Return On Investment (ROI).
4. Do learn PPC with Google Adwords before branching out into !Yahoo and MSN Adcenter. But do investigate other PPC programs when you are getting good at it to increase your Market Reach.
5. Don’t take advice from just anyone on the internet. Do read plenty and then do your due diligence.
6. Do use negative keywords – It will target your ads better and can bring your CPC down.
7. Do monitor your stats. You need to keep on top of your ads performance and constantly improve your campaigns.
8. Do guage your ROI. You need to know if you are making money and to cut your losses if you are not – this is basic risk management.
9. Do use multiple ads for each Ad Group. This is called split testing and will show you what performs best.
10. Do create landing pages. They are statistically proven to increase conversion rates as long as they are done right. I don’t know why – it’s just the way it is.
11. Do ask questions. This is Brandons bonus tip. If you are a newbie, it is one of the best ways to learn.
12. And here is my bonus tip: Constant Improvement. In The Definitive Guide To Google Adwords, Perry Marshall talks about Kaizen, a Japanese phrase that refers to improvement. Perry states that Kaizen should be applied to your campaigns at all times and that it is imperitive in the application of constant split testing. With constant improvement comes serious unbeatability.

So there you go. By (not) following Brandons advice you should be on the way to successful PPC campaigns.
