I've been running just plain old AVG virus scanner with default windows firewall. I have a cable modem that has it's own firewall, but I have the correct ports opened so that the modem doesn't affect me. Now, back to AVG. Your guys problems are that you have conflicting programs fighting over the same things. You only need one Firewall, one virus scanner. That's it. And if you have problems with spyware, then your an idiot. You shouldn't be visiting those types of sites.

I've had problems with ZoneAlarm and Apache in the past. It's probably the culprit.
